Neuronal activity and synaptic plasticity in mPFC were significantly depressed in high-fat diet and leptin knockout mice. To detect neuronal activities in mPFC (A), sIPSC, sEPSC (B, C), mIPSC, and mEPSC (D, E) were recorded, and frequency and amplitude were calculated. Additionally, synaptic morphology was assessed by calculating dendritic spine density and mushroom shape spine proportion (F).
