Desiccated P. aeruginosa genome mutant fitness in the presence (LB) and absence (PBS) of nutrients. (A and B) The transposon mutant library was desiccated on plastic in presence (LB broth) or absence (PBS) of nutrients. Cells were recovered 1 or 3 days (D) postdesiccation, and genomic DNA and libraries were prepared for sequencing. Cells that were not subjected to desiccation served as the input control. The input library had 88,425 unique insertions. (A) Plotted is the log₂ fold change in reads after desiccation compared to the control for each P. aeruginosa ORF (open reading frame).
