Improve the relevance and timeliness of HSR and PCR	Create funding mechanisms that support more rapid, engaged research approaches, such as embedded research and learning health systems models, and dissemination of their results. Expand funding to refine mixed qualitative and quantitative methods suited to generating evidence on the implementation of change in complex health care systems.
Encourage innovation in HSR and PCR	Create funding mechanisms that support innovative high-risk, high-reward research.
Improve translation of HSR and PCR into practice	Train and assist researchers in effectively communicating results in formats actionable for health care delivery stakeholders. Fund research to identify the most effective channels to communicate research results for different users of HSR and PCR. Require researchers to consider implementation issues earlier in the study development and proposal process and explicitly apply theories of change to help connect disparate results. Expand funding for the synthesis of evidence across research studies on topics of interest to health care delivery and other users of HSR and PCR.
