A comparison of mitochondrial and chloroplast translation products in wild type (WT) Arabidopsis, a knockout line defective in LEA5 (lea5) and a transformed Arabidopsis line overexpressing LEA5 (OEX2-5). Mitochondrial (A) and chloroplast proteins (B) were labeled with ³⁵S-Met. A shows the ATP synthase subunits, ATP1 and ATP9, the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (NAD) 7 and 9 subunits, cytochrome b (cob), and cytochrome c oxidase subunit II (COXII). (B) Shows labeling in the photosystem II reaction center proteins D1 and D2 proteins and the large subunit of ribuoose-1, 5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase (RBCL).
