Traditional and nontraditional risk factors for heart failure. Only half of lifetime risk of heart failure is captured by traditional risk factors. Emerging risk‐enhancing factors should be incorporated into personalized strategies for prevention of heart failure and include (but are not limited to) hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, breast cancer, chronic lung disease, and Covid‐19.
