Liposome size influences the extensional properties of liposomal hydrogels. All measurements were performed with hydrogels composed of 2% HPMC-C12 and 4% liposome, by weight. Liposomes were extruded through either 200, 100, or 50 nm polycarbonate filter. Representative images of filament breakage with hydrogels composed of liposomes extruded through (A) 200 nm, (B) 100 nm, or (C) 50 nm polycarbonate filters. (D) Quantification of % strain to break for each formulation at a range of strain rates. Data represents mean and SEM of 3 independent batches. Statistical comparisons were made using a two-way ANOVA, and the false discovery rate (FDR) was controlled at 5% using the Benjamini, Krieger, and Yekutieli method.
