Notes: “Number of Additional Children” denotes the number of children born after the first survey round. We report results from the following regressions: fi,t – fi,1 = α + β(xi,1 – fi,1) + ϵ for t = 2,3. The sample comprises all women in the analysis sample who were interviewed in Rounds 1, 2 and 3. Two out of the 239 women gave non-numeric answers to the question on fertility desires, and one woman is missing information on actual fertility for Round 1, leaving a sample size of 236. 115 of these women had been pregnant at least once by Round 1 (Pregnancies > 0 (Rd 1)), 121 had not (Never Pregnant (Rd 1)), totalling the sample sizes in the middle and right panels respectively. Each column represents a separate regression. Regressions include no additional controls. Standard errors (in parenthesis) are clustered at the baseline school level. Stars indicate the following significance levels
p < 0.1
p < 0.05 and
p < 0.01. Observations are weighted using survey weights from the later round, adjusted for the two-stage tracking design of the KLPS. Rows “Mean” and “Std. Dev.” show these respective measures for the number of additional children between Round 1 and later rounds.
