Reaction conditions: Phenylacetylene (1.0 mmol), iodobenzene (1.0 mmol), EtOH : H2O (2 : 1, v/v, 5.0 mL), filter paper/Pd complex (as a catalyst).

For entries 1–3, the reactions were stirred using a magnet bar. For entries 4–6, the reactions were conducted on a water bath. All the reactions were conducted under N2 atmosphere and the Pd-loading was equal to 1.0 ± 0.3 mmol/95 cm2.
