Fig. 1 — Schematic overview of analysis models of studies for which motor behavioral data and brain structural or functional data were collected from individuals with AD pathology. Here we review studies that report on the interaction between group and brain structure/function on motor behavior (A). We also report on studies that collected data on an MCI/AD and a control group but report the association between brain volume on motor performance stratified by group (B), and studies that report the association between brain volume on motor performance in MCI/AD participants without including a control group (C). We do not include studies that collected data on an MCI/AD and a control group, but only report the association between brain volume on motor performance for the entire sample combined (D), or studies that report group differences in (E) motor behavior and (F) brain structure/function without describing their association.
