Mass activities (j_mass) versus the corresponding η values of various supported catalysts, namely, Ru nanoparticles (green crosses), a 2.5 nm Pt₁Ru_1.54 alloy (red cross), and Pt/C (black diamonds). The j_mass and η values are measured at 10 mA/cm_geom² in 1 M KOH. The mass activities are measured in A/mg noble metal catalyst for the supported Pt₁Ru_1.54 alloy and the Pt/C catalysts, while in the case of the supported Ru catalysts, the mass activities are in mg per total catalyst, i.e., including the carbon support.
