This table assumes children brush twice daily, children under 6 years old use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste (0.075 mg fluoride), and children over 6 years old use a strip-sized amount of toothpaste (0.3 mg fluoride). Additionally, this table also assumes that children over 6 years old generally do not ingest toothpaste when brushing their teeth, whereas those under 6 years old do so. Figures 3, 4, along with Table 2, incorporate this amount of ingested fluoride [39].
