(a) Caterpillar performance of Spodoptera littoralis fed with leaves of 5‐weeks‐old plants was measured after 4, 5 and 7 days of feeding; and (b) leaf chlorophyll content (SPAD values) was measured on 6‐weeks‐old plants. Data S5 documents the statistical analyses in detail.
