Measurement of cerebrospinal fluid flow in the adult telencephalon

The illustration shows the overall procedure to record cerebrospinal fluid flow in the brain explant.

(A) Microinjection of fluorescent beads into the brain explant, using a stereo microscope and a microinjector.

Green colored needle indicates the injection needle containing the fluorescent beads. Green dots label the distributed fluorescent particles in the explant. (A2) Oxygenation of the brain explant with aCSF (dorsal view). (A3) A region of interest is identified using a 10× objective prior to the recording (A4). The red box in the right side indicates high magnification of the region of interest. Green dots mark the fluorescent beads in the brain.
