Histological images of the LV myocardium cross-sections of the native porcine hearts, which featured blood vessels and elastin associated with blood vessels. The vascular elastin was observed in the walls of the blood vessels, especially in the intima and media layers (Arrows in B,C). In the collagen network that meshed the blood vessels to the surrounding myocardium, abundant interstitial elastin fibers existed, and this part of interstitial elastin fibers was more associated with the anatomical anchoring of the cardiac vasculature (rectangular boxes in A,C, and zoomed-in details of those boxes as in B,D).
