At the fifth week of feeding, rats in Group PDN were intraperitoneally injected with STZ, and rats in Group C were intraperitoneally injected with sterile saline. Rats in Group BHB were intraperitoneally injected with STZ at the fifth week of feeding and BHB at the 10th week of feeding. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare means between groups. The repeated-measures ANOVA was used to compare the PWT. Post hoc analyses were conducted using the Bonferroni correction method. Values were presented as mean ± SEM. *p < 0.05 compared with values in Group PDN. ^#p < 0.05 compared with values in Group C.
