A near-infrared (NIR) laser gets focussed within each protein-rich FUS droplet encapsulating surface-functionalized silver nanoparticles through an integrated system of lenses, mirrors, and filters. Hotspots are generated within the droplets causing optical enhancement of Raman signals detected by a CCD detector. A fluorescence image taken from the eyepiece using a camera is also included to show the encapsulation of nanoparticles in the condensates.
