All the models have been adjusted for age, sex, body mass index and smoking status. The normal fasting glucose group is set as the control, and the raw values of all variables are included in models. The total sample for the unpolluted area includes the normal fasting glucose group (n = 115) and the diabetes mellitus group (n = 20) and that for the cadmium (Cd)‐polluted area includes the normal fasting glucose group (n = 171) and the diabetes mellitus group (m = 22). *P < 0.05.
