Polysome loading assay of chloroplast mRNAs in the WT and nadk2-2. Ten fractions of equal volume were collected from the top to the bottom of 15%−55% sucrose gradients and equal proportions of the RNA purified from each fraction were analyzed by RNA gel blot analysis. The probes are shown on the right. The gradient fractions containing the bulk of the mRNAs are shown by brackets below the blots. rRNAs were detected by EtBr staining.
