Condensation of Ddx3xb promoted by increased ATP concentration at 4 hpf unwinds the structured 5’ UTRs to promote translation of maternal mRNAs. Without Ddx3xb, structured 5’ UTRs cannot be opened, which results in translation inhibition, further leading to developmental delay and defects during zebrafish embryogenesis.
