Gas chromatographic analysis of the product of 2-cyclohexen-1-one reduction by the Ncr-His₆ protein. Reaction mixtures containing 0.2 mM 2-cyclohexen-1-one, 0.5 mM NAD(P)H, and 0.1 mg of purified Ncr-His₆ in sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, were incubated at 30°C for 30 min. Aliquots of 1 μl were removed and separated on a gas chromatographic capillary.
