This table provides the average reaction time (onset of ClB/Br) in milliseconds for each cat and for each limb, together with the ±SD. Data are also presented for the onset of the lifting of the limb from the support surface and for the onset of the lever press. Values in parentheses indicate the number of trials used for each average. No preselection of trials was used beyond the fact that the movement started after the Go-signal, and the trial was included in our analysis of cell activity. Limb lift was defined as vertical ground reaction force falling below 3 N, whereas lever press was indicated by a mechanical switch. All values are relative to the onset of the Go stimulus.
