Phenocopy of ancestral diet induced transcriptional changes with pharmacological inhibition of target pathways: Blocking of MAPK with 100 μM Tyrphostin AG1478 (EGFR inhibitor, A, B) or 2.5 μM of SCH772984 (Rolled/Erk inhibitor, C, D), showed a reduction of MAPK gene expression at the point of inhibition and downstream (a, c) but also led to a reduction in expression of ribosome biogenesis pathway genes (b, d). Partially inhibiting ribosome biogenesis with 50 μM of BMH-21 (Pol 1 inhibitor, E, F) showed no change in MAPK expression (e). There was, however, a reduction in the expression of ribosome biogenesis pathway genes (f). Bars indicate relative expression ± SEM.
