Schematic showing the potential of salvinorin A in modulating neuronal activity and plasticity in the brain. Certain disease states could drive hyperexcitity in distinct circuits. Delivery of salvinorin A and KOR activation can rapidly decrease neuronal activity and synaptic plasticity.
