mRNA expression of NRF2/ARE-regulated genes in the SAMR1 or SAMP8 hippocampi. The SAMR1 and SAMP8 mice were fed a diet with or without SGS (0.3% w/w) from 1 to 13 months of age. The mice were dissected at 13 months of age and hippocampal mRNA was subjected to RT-qPCR analysis. The mRNA expression of the control-treated SAMR1 mouse was set as 1 and the relative mRNA expression of (A) Nfe2l2, (B) Heme oxygenase 1 (Hmox1) (C) NAD(P)H quinone dehydrogenase 1 (Nqo1) (D) Glutathione peroxidase 3 (Gpx3) (E) Glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit (Gclm) and (F) Thioredoxin 1 (Txn1) were normalized to Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (Gapdh).
