LTCF type 1 is defined as a long-term care facility (LTCF) with physician and nursing staff with care assistants available 24 hours every day. In type 2 LTCF, nursing staff with care assistants are available 24 hours a day and seven days a week in the facility, and physicians available offsite. In type 3 LTCF, care assistants are available 24/7 in the facility, and nurses and physicians available offsite.
