Absence of FOXA2 during the development of iPSC-derived hepatocytes alters developmental gene expression, reduced ALBUMIN secretion, induced ER stress, increased hepatic steatosis, and decreased glucose uptake and glycogen accumulation. However, overexpressing FOXA2 at a hepatic progenitor stage, reversed these defective phenotypes.
