PAM regulates SCs proliferation by binding with Ddx5 to facilitate the chromatin interaction between PAM SE and target loci, Timp2 and Vim during SC proliferation. In aging mice, the activity of PAM SE was elevated, thereby enhancing the transcription of Timp2, which potentially modulates extracellular matrix components in skeletal muscle
