Cell-type specific differential gene expression in aging ovaries
Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in all clusters when comparing aged relative to young, defined by an adjusted p value ≤ 0.05, a log2 fold-change > 1 or < −1, and expression in at least 75% of one of the groups being tested. Marker genes for each cluster were identified using the same cutoffs. The majority of marker genes for corpus luteum-regressing (CL-R), stroma, follicle, and corpus luteum-progressing (CL-P) overlap with identified DEGs, demonstrating that many genes differentially expressed with aging are the same genes that distinguish between cell type clusters.
