The process of ASFV generation. ASFV morphogenesis occurs in the perinuclear virus factory near the Golgi complex and the microtubule organization center. The first sign of ASFV assembly is the formation of a viral membrane precursor from the endoplasmic reticulum pool. After the capsid is gradually assembled, this viral membrane precursor becomes the polyhedral intermediate. Along with the formation of the capsid, the virus core is assembled under the inner envelope of the virus. The mature virus factory inside the cell is then transferred to the cell surface and leaves the host cell by budding from the plasma membrane.
