^aSamples D1 to D3 and T1 to T5 were degraded to the compositional octasaccharide subunits by the succinoglycan depolymerase from Cytophaga. The products were analyzed and quantified by Dionex HPAEC. 

^bS0, S1, and S2 represent the octasaccharide subunits containing 0, 1, and 2 succinyl groups, respectively. The percentages were calibrated from standard samples (M1, M2, and M3). The molar responses in PAD detection under the HPAEC-PAD condition for S0, S1, and S2 are 1:1:0.66. The reason for the lower response for S2 is not clear.
