^aExtracellular enzyme activities of P. aeruginosa PABS1 harboring either the cloned esterase gene on pSKX+ or the lipase gene on pLip1 were arbitrarily set at 100%. Relative enzyme activities were determined as the ratio of OD₄₁₀ (enzyme activity) to OD₅₈₀ (cell density) per milliliter of culture supernatant with the substrates p-NPC for esterase and p-NPP for lipase.
