Growth was tested on minimal salts agar medium supplemented with 0.0125% arabinose and containing 0.4% of the indicated carbon source. Plates were incubated aerobically at 30°C for 6 days. The medium pH was 7.4.
++, growth similar to that of 104A14 on the carbon source (growth on mannitol, fructose, xylose, sorbitol, glycerol, and glutamate was similar for all five strains); +, growth notably poorer than that of 104A14; ±, visible but very poor growth; −, no growth.
