Nucleotide identity comparisons were done by using DNASIS version 2.0 for the Macintosh. A family consists of IVS sequences with ≥90% nucleotide identity. rrl genes have been named for the I-CeuI fragments from which they were isolated, except in the case of Salmonella serovar Typhimurium, where the gene designation is given.
