Extracts of culture supernatants from E. coli strains producing wild-type and mutant NDO enzymes were derivatized with PBA and subjected to GC-MS analysis as described in Materials and Methods. Product distributions were determined from the GC-MS peak area integrations of total ion current chromatograms. The data shown are averages from at least three experiments, and standard deviations were 5% or less. Absolute stereochemistry is not intended.
