ABMs for the assessment of predation stress in sheep during preparation and loading/unloading

ABM Definition and interpretation of the ABM
Avoidance behaviour, especially expressed as sudden movements

Definition: Moving away from another animal or away from a source of aversive stimulus (Napolitano et al., 2011).

Interpretation: During loading/unloading, sheep may be exposed to sheepdogs that provoke an avoidance response as an antipredator behavioural response (Beausoleil et al., 2005).

ABM: animal‐based measure.
