Study name Training of patients with hip fracture
Methods Randomised trial. Blinded outcomes assessor
Participants Aged 60 years or over; hip fracture patients who are full weight bearing on the affected leg; living in own home with an independent walking ability; within 2 weeks after discharge from hospital
Aim: 120 participants
Interventions 1. 12 weeks of physical training consisting of muscle strength training of both legs, balance and coordination exercises 2 times a week
2. 6 weeks of physical training (as above)
Outcomes Follow‐up: 24 weeks after baseline testing
Changes in knee‐extension strength
Changes in the Timed Up and Go test
