(B) Upper panel: overview of experiment. Heparin synchronized PfA-M17-HAglmS parasites were treated with 2.5 mM GlcN and allowed to invade into cycle 2 before being treated with 3 or DMSO. Lower panel: representative Giemsa-stained parasite smears of PfA-M17-HAglmS parasites treated with ±GlcN and ± 5 x or 10 x EC50 of compound 3 shows parasites developing at a slower rate than the DMSO-treated control but in a similar manner between the treatment groups, n=2 biological replicates.
