The domains of the PfJDPs shown are the signature J domain (blue) which stimulates the ATPase activity of Hsp70, the glycine/phenylalanine/serine (GFS)-rich region (green) involved in regulation of protein substrate binding by Hsp70, the C-terminal domain (grey) involved in substrate binding and dimerization, the PEXEL motif required for export through the PTEX, and the PHIST domain (yellow) and MEC motif (red) involved in binding to the erythrocyte cytoskeleton.
