ARV p17-induced autophagy in cancer cell lines. (A) HeLa and A549 cancer cell lines were transfected with the pcDNA3.1-p17 and pcDNA3.1 vectors, respectively. The levels of the respective proteins and their phosphorylated forms were examined by Western blotting assays with the indicated antibodies. (B) HeLa and A549 cancer cells were infected with ARV at an MOI of 10 or transfected with the pcDNA3.1-p17 vectors at the indicated time points. Aside from these treatments, cells were also treated with TG (5 μM) at the indicated time points. The mCherry-GFP-LC3 puncta (red) in cells were observed under fluorescence microscopy.
