Saliva contact angles. A. drops of wild-type (WT) and knockout (KO) mouse saliva were deposited on a hydrophobic surface and photographed. B. The decrease in contact angle after placement of the droplet on a hydrophobic surface was determined by measuring the initial angle as well as that at 20s after placement of the droplet (when the drops had reached equilibrium) and determining the difference. Samples from two mice per group were measured four times each. The data are shown as mean ± SD and were analyzed by Student’s t-test with P-value shown; N=8.
