MCT-1 (A) and SLC5A8 (B) mRNA levels show that DSS reduced the expression of both genes in the basal diet (p < 0.05). Animals fed chlorogenic acid were able to mitigate DSS-induced decreases in MCT-1 expression. Both experimental diets were able to mitigate DSS-induced decreases in SLC5A8 expression.
