An overnight culture of V. vulnificus YJ016 was diluted 1:500 in LB, 3-h preconditioned medium, and 6-h preconditioned medium with 0.5× LB. The bacteria were then grown at 37°C, and the OD₆₀₀ of the culture as well as the protease activity in the culture supernatant was determined every hour.
