Post-hoc analysis showed that in 8-month-old animals the difference was more pronounced (4-month: * p = 0.02; 8-month: * p = 0.00). (C): Elevated corticosterone levels were measured in 3xTg-AD animals after dexamethasone treatment compared to controls, however, this difference was only significant in 4-month-old animals (* p < 0.05). (D): There was no significant difference in adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) levels in either group (p > 0.05).
