Artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF)
| Reagent | Final concentration | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| HEPES | 10 mM | 2.384 g |
| NaHCO3 | 21 mM | 1.76 g |
| NaH2PO4 | 1.2 mM | 164 μg |
| KCl | 2.5 mM | 185 μg |
| MgCl2 | 2 mM | 410 μg |
| CaCl2 | 2 mM | 294 μg |
| D-glucose | 5 mM | 999 μg |
| Glycerol | 250 mM | 25 mL |
| ddH2O | N/A | Up to 1 L |
| Total | N/A | 1 L |
After dissolving the chemicals in 800 μL ddH2O, measure and adjust the pH and fill up to 1 L. Afterward, filter using a 0.22 μm bottle-top vacuum filter and store the aCSF at 4°C. aCSF can be used until precipitates start to form.
