Exploring variable experimental conditions to detect RNA editing in HeLa cells. RNA editing in HeLa cells was tested for the EYFP-PPR56 construct and its native nad4 target under different incubation times of 14, 20 and 40 h after transfection, and with variable Zn²⁺ supplementations of 0, 25 and 100 μM ZnSO₄. No beneficial effect was observed for added Zn²⁺ at any of the three incubation times (A), whereas increased incubation times yielded higher editing efficiencies (B).
