Heterologous expression of alr1⁺ gene in S. cerevisiae S. cervisiae cells harboring p426Gal1 or p426Gal1ALR1 were streaked on agar plates containing the minimal medium supplemented with 5 mM ammonium sulfate (see Materials and Methods) (A), 10 mM l-alanine (B), or 10 mM d-alanine (C and D).
