USP13 regulates DDR. After DNA damage, USP13 is phosphorylated and activated by ATM to deubiquitinate RAP80 (K75, K90, and K112), which promoted the binding of RAP80 with the K63-linked polyubiquitin chain and the subsequent recruitment of BRCA1, triggering proper DDR.
