The arrowheads indicate the time point at which the seawater medium was changed to fresh seawater, reverse peptide-, or NPWa peptide-containing seawater (blue, light blue, and orange, respectively). The concentrations of peptides are shown at the top. The mean values of the time period shaded in light blue and orange were calculated for the quantitative analysis (Fig. 4c).
