NOTES. The cognitive impairment regression also controls for educational level. Patients were coded as having severe anxiety if they scored >8 in the HADS-A score >8 scale; severe depression if they scored >8 in the HADS-D, and PTSD if they scored >1.75 in the IES-6. Patients were coded as having cognitive impairment if they scored <18 in the education-adjusted Montreal Cognitive Assessment-Blind scale. All regressions also include a constant term and an indicator for missing race/ethnicity.
Abbreviations: HADS-A, hospital anxiety scale; HADS-D, hospital depression scale; IES-6, impact of event scale; REF.
