The SSC subunit of the plastome was found to occur in both orientations giving rise to two distinct chloroplast sequences. Genes present outside the outer track are transcribed clockwise and the ones present inside are transcribed anti-clockwise. Genes belonging to different functional groups are colour-coded. B) Mitochondrial contigs and annotation. The sizes of contigs are indicated under each contig. As plant mitochondrial genomes generally exist in small circular and branched form, the annotation was represented on circular contigs. The annotations correspond to identified tRNA sites on the mitochondrial contigs.
